The collaboration concept of a joint performance between the Yale Dance Lab and the Yale Symphony Orchestra was first hatched in 2019. Lacina Coulibaly and Emily Coates of the Dance Lab, and William Broughton of the Symphony started to plan this Rite of Spring Performance. Then the pandemic got in the way. The collaboration idea finally came to fruition this year with a spellbinding show in the Yale Commons .
